Hi!

This post is in response to a comment from my friends Elizabeth & Jo. It was a really good question since we never explained where Maggie went...

For anyone who doesn't know, Maggie was a foster that we took in from IG rescue while she had leg surgery and recovered. She came to our family at the end of December as a 4 month old baby. Here we are around that time:

She stayed with us until Easter (4 months!). Momma realized that I was not bonded to Maggie and that I was really unhappy with having to share my Momma and Daddy with her. So...on Easter Sunday Maggie went to live with her new furever family in West Palm Beach. She has an awesome new Mom and 2 brothers named Clifford & Marley. Maggie and Marley hit it off right away and are now inseparable! Maggie's new Momma spells her name "Maggy". She was truly meant for their family. Everyone is so happy now and right where they should be!

Isn't she pretty? Although I was happy Maggy went to a new family, Momma hasn't given up on the idea of me not being an only child. My Grandma says I am just too 'spoiled'. I'm not sure what that means, but if it means I want my Momma and Daddy all to myself --- than I am SPOILED!

Yesterday was my 5th birfday!
It was the best! I had such a great day. I was with Momma & Daddy ALL day!
We went for walks, went to the dog park, I saw some family and made some new friends too!
I had super tasty food all day and Momma made all of it! It was so great.

Hi everyone!

So not much going on at my house these days. Momma says we are moving again at the end of this month. That's fine with me as long as I get to go too! But the question is... is this little girl coming with us? It sure looks like it. She is starting to get her own wardrobe, not just my hand me downs. That is a bad sign. Oh! And she has a new name now. Momma keeps calling her my "sister" and "Maggie". She keeps trying to sleep next to me under the covers. She is pretty warm and she's kind of fun. She barks a lot. Oh well. None of the others have ever stayed... the aussie pups and Momma, Sterling... that's 6 dogs come and gone...we will see about Maggie.

Although we haven't done our "construction" yet, Momma says we should start posting for 2009.
We are still going to re-do everything Momma says, but she has been so busy and she says our friends miss seeing what I am up to!

We took in a little girl from IGCA rescue named "Dixie" who has a broken leg, and Momma says we are "fostering" her while she is healing. I have a sneaking suspicion she might be staying and my reign as king of the house is over. I dearly loved being an only iggy for the past 4+ years...But she isn't so bad. She's warm at least.

So here we are...me and the rescue known as "Dixie".

Hi to all my friends out there on the world wide web!
I was sitting in my crate today while Momma was at work and I was thinking to myself...
Can you believe it is already almost the middle of June?? I can't!
But I do like what comes with the summertime...and my list of the top 5 things I like the most about summer time are:
1) Backyard Bar-b-q's
2) Longer days = more time outside
3) Afternoon rain showers means weekend nap time with Momma!
4) Playdates!
5) Summertime snacks! (like ice cream, Popsicles & snow cones!)

What are your favorite things about summer? I'd love to hear!

Yesterday I turned 4 years old!
It was great. I got to go to the 3 Dog Bakery in Boca Raton, FL and I LOVE that place.
It is like a human bakery but for dogs only! I got so many yummy treats, but Momma only lets me have one a day. She said something about not getting sick eating everything at once. She's crazy. I've watched her eat a pint of Ben & Jerry's in one sitting...and it wasn't even her birthday!

PS Some of you asked where Sterling is...he went home with his Momma a few days ago. I missed him at first, but now I am happy to have my Momma all to myself again. Sterling and I are going to get together and play soon though! We are gonna be friends furever!!

Momma has to work today and Daddy is getting packed for a long long trip, but we are gonna party tonite!

I'm 4! Momma says my birthday is a holiday. And it's my favorite holiday. So far I had a special birthday breakfast with chicken and then for lunch I got a special warm chicken snack. Daddy got me the softest fleece blanket in navy blue and black. I LOVE IT! I slept in it all night - he gave it to me at midnight! Momma says she is taking me to the Three Dog Bakery after work. I can't wait!

Momma says we are going to have a party and invite my friends later this summer. It's gonna be so fun. I love seeing my friends. Stay tuned for more info on that or e-mail Momma or me for more info. (Shelby@ILoveRudy.com)

BTW! It's my 4th birthday next week, and I heard Momma saying she was planning a be-lated party for me and my friends sometime in the summer. But I'm sure I'll have a small party for family on the 30th! We'll post pics, I've been such a good boy, I bet I get some good stuff :)

I met my new friend Sterling and his Momma Artemis today! They were super cool and although Sterling and I had to take some time to figure out who was in charge, we ran and played and wore each other out!! Here are some photos from our playdate!!

Here is a totaly unrelated story

Momma went and did something she calls "bargain hunting". I think it's like when cavemen used to go hunting and gathering? She is usually very successful in her quest and yesterday she used her experience and talent to bring home what she kept calling "amazing deals."

I really miss my brother Shorty who got lost in his new neighborhood back on February 18th. Momma says I miss him so much I am starting to act like him. This is my new place to "perch" while Momma is cleaning, unpacking, organizing or whatever...it's pretty comfortable and is where my brother Shorty would have sat to watch Momma or Daddy too... Momma kept saying "you're not agile like a cat, you might fall!" I wasn't sure what agile meant so I looked it up. In case you didn't know either, here is the definition and we can learn together!

OMG Everyone! HELP!! My Momma has lost her mind!

Momma is in California for my great-grandpa's funeral and I am hanging out with Daddy - just the boys - until she gets back! It's a real GUYS WEEKEND!

PS: on Jan 19 my brother Shorty ran away from home and we have been searching for him like crazy. He was in Homestead FL with Daddy and walked out the front door. I know he was confused because he and Daddy had just moved and the house and the neighborhood were new to him. We are all really upset and want Shorty to come home so bad. Here is my brother's picture. I know a lot of you know him already. He is easy to spot, he's a manx - he has no tail. 6 years old. Yellow eyes and gorgeous black coat with faint tiger stripes.

We love you Shorty. We are praying for you to come home to us.

At the class Momma and I went to last weekend I made a lot of new friends!

The most surprising one was a 9 year old italian greyhound named...you guessed it...RUDY!
Momma couldn't believe it. I believe it, cuz I think my name is the best ever and why wouldn't another iggy Mom (her name is Shelley!) name her boy just like me? Rudy was really cool. Here we are:

Another nice friend was Roscoe. He liked to play. He didn't seem too interested in the class. He was all about the playing! Go Roscoe!

This weekend Momma and I went to a "class" so Momma could learn about Healing Touch for Animals. I love it when we go to these things. I get to meet lots of people and many new friends! This weekend was a blast. Here are a few pictures from this weekend:

On Monday Momma took me to the doctor for my yearly physical and shots.
I love everyone at the doctor, but why do they have to stick me with things?
It hurt when they poked me with the needle thing and took some of my blood from me. Momma said she was sorry but it was for my "own good". She tried to make it up to me...but I pouted all day!

Here is some of the great stuff I got for Christmas!

My Uncle Rusty and Aunt Monie got me a cool new t-shirt to wear to the dog park!

Saturday I went to my new iggy friends Lucy & Gracie's dual birthday party on the West coast of Florida! It was a 4 hour car ride and it was worth it! Lucy's Mom made cake, and it rocked! I LOVED it! It was really yummy. We all ate it up. I have asked my Mom to get the recipe and PLEASE make me one...
I met A LOT of new iggies, including one iggy named Rocco who wasn't even there for the party! It was total coincidence that he was at the dog park at that time. Isn't that cool?

It was COLD in Georgia for a little Florida dog, so we spent a lot of time around the campfire! I spent a lot of time in people's laps and being held and carried around.

We had a super duper time in Georgia. It was cold...I met lots of new friends...kids, cows, kittens and a few dogs... We made it back from Georgia! We had a great time. We saw family, cows, kittens, dogs and it was COLD! More pictures of our adventures in Georgia tomorrow.
On our way home today we picked up a new friend! His name is Mica, and he was surrendered in Jacksonville. Momma, Daddy and I picked him up and drove him 5 hours to meet his new Mom! He was really cool and I am glad he is my friend now!
Mica is going to live with Patti and her IG Phina. Phina is actually Mica's birth mother!! How cool is that? Mica will also have a brother named Jake who is a Sheltie.

Hi!! I really love weekends! It means together time...family time...yummy snacks and many adventures!
We usually go to an auction or two on the weekends. It's really fun! The people are so nice at the auction, and of course dogs are welcome! I love all my friends at the auction.
Here is a picture of me after I got a bit tired from all the excitement. Momma was still going strong and ready to bid with her card in her hand. I needed a little nap before I could do anymore shopping.

One of the BESTEST things about the auction is the FOOD! Here I am with our friend Phil and he was nice enough to share his ICE CREAM with me!! Yum yum yum!

I love my little turtle family. Momma says I help take good care of them. I check on them all the time, and this time Momma took pictures (what DOESN'T she take pictures of?)

Here I am talking to Pooka. Pooka is the oldest, he was born in 1995.

Here are Pooka & Franco. Franco came to us as a baby with his sister Sally. They were born in 2005. Junior is also in the pond but not in the picture and he is the baby and kinda shy - - born in 2006 Momma said. We rescued him from our Aunt Rosita. He looks exactly like Pooka, but much smaller!

Me and my friends...I'm not afraid of them at all! Momma keeps saying they are going to bite my nose off. I just laugh. She doesn't realize I am the "Turtle Whisperer!". BOL!(barking out loud!).

Today Momma, Grandma and I went to the Halloween Social at our favorite doggie boutique, the Haute Hound. (If you can't visit in person, click on their name to visit their awesome website!)
I was so excited because I got to see all my girlfriends, Mea, Rome, Sicily and Milaney. They are so cool! Thanks to Kimberly for a really fun pawty!
Here are the highlights...and for those of you who were waiting to hear what I was dressed as this year...I was a Fire Hydrant! Ha! Momma says I might be something else for Trick or Treating... stay tuned.

Happy Gotcha Day to me! October 2, 2007 is the 3rd anniversary of the day I met my Mommy & Daddy!! Yeah! Momma said we are going to walk down "memory lane" - that usually means we are going to look at pictures of me as a baby...so here we go...

Today Momma took me to the Wellington Dog Park. It is by far my FAVORITE!!
And tonight a lot of my old friends showed up, and I made some NEW friends! Yea!

My friends Poppy & Rocco were there to run with!

My iggy friend Penny was there and we had so much fun running!

A new little min pin puppy named Cassidy was there. He was only 2 pounds (can you see him in front of me?)!! There was also a new hot dog puppy named Hooch. You can see his back in this pic.

Rocco and Cassidy got along well too!

Our friend Angela added a 3rd fur-baby to her family...and here he is "Austin" the aussie!

He was gorgeous, sweet and FLUFFY! Makes me miss my friends the aussie puppies. (Momma hugged and kissed him a lot too...)

My old friend Remy (who is Hooch's sister!!) is back for the season and we ran together!

After all that action...I was pooped.

Momma said I slept the whole way home. Oh, and then I had dinner and went back to sleep. I think it might be time for another nap RIGHT NOW!

First of all, please forgive how long it has been since we have updated my website. Momma went out of town and Daddy has been working like crazy and I do not possess opposable thumbs...so no matter how many times I tried and how much I wanted to blog, I couldn't do it without a little help (and Shorty couldn't do it either, he tried). So, thanks to all my friends for understanding!

Momma, Daddy and I decided to try a game called geocaching. It's where you go to this website and find GPS coordinates to hidden items all over the world and then you can use your personal GPS to locate them. It's like treasure hunting with a map in olden times, only using the modern conveniences of GPS and the treasures are mostly just roster you can add your name and the date to and you get the satisfaction of finding it. Here are Daddy and me geocaching:

We continue to think about Peepers and wish him a speedy recovery!

Shorty is my cat brother. We fight and wrestle and play all the time. I love him so much and Momma says he 'tolerates' me. I don't know what 'tolerates' means, but I think it translates into something like "loves me more than anything in the world." BOL!!(barking out loud)

Hi everyone! It's late Sunday night (or Monday morning Momma just told me)and after a tiring weekend, we are finally going to update the site! Sorry for those of you who have been waiting on me! We had a lot to catch up on this weekend...cleaning, washing, shopping...and we got to see Grandma who has been traveling the last few weekends. I was really happy to see Grandma. She is one of my favorite people in the whole world (and she gives me really good snacks!!). Anyhow here are a few pictures to give you a better idea of how the weekend went!

I learned a new trick! This is called bed-eating - it's not what you think! I figured out that I don't have to completely get out of my bed for a meal. For some reason Daddy thought this was really really funny. Then Momma got involved and she couldn't believe how smart I was to come up with this!

Now, I want to give a shout out to my little foster brothers & sister who had a BIG birthday last week! Some of you may remember the rescue Australian Shepherd puppies that we took in with their Momma this time last year when they were one week old...well...Gracie, Arthur, Newman and Oliver turned 1 year old on July 31st!! Woo hoo! So here is a blast from the past in celebration of their lives and the wonderful FOREVER homes they have been adopted into...

Momma, Daddy and I went over to the beach. The beach is so fun to run on and it feels really nice under my paws! But then Momma went into the water and wanted me to go in too! She's crazy. Yeah! It's Friday and that means two full days with my Momma at home all day long!

Tonight I got to go to the West Palm dog park and saw a few doggies, but I haven't made a lot of friends there yet. I miss my friends in Wellington, but I am adjusting to life downtown.
Momma and I have been selling some items on eBay, which is fun. I approve all of her auctions. I am like the...content consultant or the artistic director. We are also getting stuff ready for a big yard sale that we are gonna have with my Auntie Rose. Momma says we are "down-sizing" our stuff. She says that we are pack-rats. I tried to tell her that I am not a rat, but she says that all of my toys and stuff qualify me as a pack rat. Momma went through all my toys and was sorting them into piles. I kept taking them and running away with them. BOL! She donated a bunch of my toys and she gave some to my cousin Roxie too. I'm not sure why she did that. I love all my toys. Okay, I guess I had a lot to get off my chest tonight.

Hi!! Momma says sorry we have been busy and we are just now reporting how everything went on Sunday. We started with the open house thing where we go and sit in our house near the horses where we used to live and watch tv and do laundry. Momma says we are waiting for people to come see it, but I have never seen anyone other than my Grandma come over.
Here I am trying to entice people to come in!

I got really bored waiting, and Momma found me taking a nap...

After waiting all day, I got a special surprise! Momma took me to my favorite dog park in Wellington and I got to see my friends Ranger and Rika!! Unfortunately their siblings Delta & Oliver stayed home, missed you guys! We had fun! Check us out!

Me & Rika (and Ranger's butt) - we were running in the mud puddles and rolling in every yummy smelly thing we could find! Our Mommas said we were gross. BOL!

I got very dirty and really tired. I sat down for a rest and then posed for a few photos...
Momma couldn't resist taking my picture. I rolled in some kind of poo. It was great. BOL!

Momma was not amused about how I smelled or looked. So she took me to the hose and rinsed me off from head to toe. Then I got cold. She put my shirt on me, but I was tired, cold, wet, dirty and grumpy. It was time to go home. Momma said I looked pathetic.

I had a really great time! Thanks Aunt Diane, Ranger & Rika! I hope the whole family can come next time! Yeah! I love seeing my friends!

Hi everyone! Momma says to say sorry for not updating sooner, but we lost our link to the internet here at the new condo and Momma has been so upset! But the good news is that we are back! Daddy has the flu and has been in bed A LOT and Momma has been running around taking care of him. Tomorrow we are having another house opening in Wellington and then I get to meet my friends at the dog park! Roo roo!! (Momma says weather permitting? What does that mean?)
Okay, that is the update for now. We have missed you all very much!
By the way, here I am in my cool summer hat that Grandma bought me at The Haute Hound in Jupiter, FL - they have a super cool website too, you should check it out. I think the Haute Hounds are babes too...BOL!

Momma and Daddy came from from their trip and Momma put this new collar on me. She told me to run around and it sounded like there were bells chasing me!! I wasn't sure what was happening, but Momma thought it was funny. She put me up on the bed and started taking pictures...Momma said the collar is from our friends George, Ashley and the Pasta Greyhound Crew from Tennessee!! They sound super cool and I wish I could meet them all and play and sniff them all over!

Here I am in my new fancy collar. Momma says it is for 'special occasions'.

I am so handsome in this collar. Daddy said it brings out my metro-sexual side. I'm not sure what that means? Grandma loved it too!

Momma and Daddy came back tonight from their car trip. I had so much fun with my Grandma, but I started to really miss Momma & Daddy today. I even heard Grandma tellin Momma that she thought I seemed 'depressed' today. I guess I was just wondering when Momma and Daddy were coming back for me - did they even miss me? I waited and waited by the front door for a few hours but they didn't come.

Then, when I didn't even expect it... there they were!! I gave kisses and hugs and love... it was a very fun reunion! Momma missed me so much and so did Daddy! They were so happy to see me and I was so happy I was wagging my whole body, not just my tail!

Last night we left Rudy with his Grandma Trish. Rudy loves her so much and we are pretty sure she loves him too...although she insists that she is NOT his Grandma. She always gives him plenty of "snacks" and takes him on long walks around her neighborhood. Rudy enjoys her backyard too where he can run, play, look at the water, the birds and the wild iguanas too! We will be back on Sunday Rudy, we love you & miss you. Thanks for taking such good care of Rudy, Grandma!!

(P.S. As you can see, Grandma Trish refused to sign the consent form for this photo. LOL)

Momma and I walked across the big bridge today and went to the beach. I love to run and play in the sand.

Then we walked back over the loud bridge and walked next to the water. I found a really good stick to chew on. Momma thought it was funny for some reason.

Today Momma and I went out and did this "Open House" thing again...
But before we went to Wellington, we went by Grandma's and met up with Uncle Rusty to "adopt" a new family member - she was being picked on in her home with Uncle Rusty & Aunt Monie by her brothers and sisters. I guess it was pretty bad and she is coming to live with us now. Momma keeps calling her "Nemo". She lives in the water. She is VERY pretty. Momma took a short video of her in her new home.

Yesterday Momma and I went to a few yard sales and she bought me this frog bed. It is like a bean bag bed. It's really neat and very comfortable. Grandma said she was really glad Momma bought it for me because I REALLY need another bed. I agree with her, but Momma said it was "sarcasm". I'm not sure what sarcasm is, but I sure love Grandma a lot.

Here is a picture of my sister Velvet. She is an African Fat Tailed gecko. Momma rescued her before I was even born. She comes out mostly at night. She eats bugs. I get jealous cuz I like to eat bugs too, but Momma & Daddy tell me no. Velvet gets too. It's not fair.

Today Mom and Dad left me alone most of the day. Mom went to work and Dad went to run with someone named Arrons. They both came home and we went to Down town West Palm Beach

It was Reggae night.
We got chased out of there by the water that falls from the sky. On the way home it stopped so we went over the loud bridge to the beach on the Lake Worth Lagoon. I chilled on the soft sand first.

Then I ate a salty stick

I had fun running so fast in the sand.

Then of all things. I had to wait at the Carvel place(what ever that is)

for what felt like hours. But Mom made it up to me by letting me lick some wip creem!!!

It's been raining every day now...and I know we need the rain, it makes everything in nature beautiful. But it makes the grass wet, and I hate to step on it. It makes the dog park all muddy and I don't like the feeling of the mud between my toes. Yuck. Momma carries me when she can because she knows I hate it. Anyhow, my point is that there have not been many chances for Momma or Daddy to take pictures of me the last 2 days. I've been in bed a lot. The bed is nice and warm while the rain and wind are howling outside. Maybe we'll have something more exciting to tell you about tomorrow. See you tomorrow!! --Rudy

Today started off kinda slow. Rudy was not quick to get out of bed. Here you can see Rudy still on MY pillow.

So, have you heard about the new Wendy's Frosty Floats? Rudy has. He gives them two paws up!

Today Daddy and I went to Grandma's house. She lives right on the water!! I love to look at all the boats.

Today we saw a friend! It was a green friend we named Thomas. He was way cool.

9:00 p.m.

We just got back from Downtown. It was Latin night and they had a Latin band. It was so fun and we met tons of new friends. A chihuahua named Lilly, a little wiener dog named RUDY! And a way cool Dobie named Jack to mention a few. I really liked Jack.

Cant wait until next week. Its reggae night!

Rudy is spending another lazy day in bed. Maybe later Daddy will take him on an adventure out into the world but now they sleep. (Daddy has a cold)

Daddy finally took me out! We went out on my favorite seawall and out onto one of the few open docks.

I did some looking around and sniffing the air.

Then it was time to go home. Come on Dad, I need a nap!

12:10 Rudy gets comfy with his pal in the fluffy bed his momma got for him. Rudy is preparing for his long hard day of slumber as daddy prepares to leave for work.

We moved a few weeks ago to a condo by the water and away from the horses. Today we are back at the horse condo and Momma says we are trying to get people to buy it. She put up signs out on the road where cars can see them and one in front of the building. Now we are sitting here waiting for people to show up and look at this place. Momma is getting really upset when I jump on and off the beds and roll around and mess up the blankets. This place is pretty empty and super fun to run around in!! Momma seems worried about selling this place, and she keeps telling me she hopes it sells soon. I hope so too, so that Momma and Daddy don't have to worry so much anymore.

Pretty condo for sale. Neat & clean. Even the beds. I promise I won't get under the covers, even though I want to. I REALLY REALLY want to. See you tomorrow!!

Daddy is off work today so before it rains again he took me for a walk!!! Our new home is right on the water. Daddy calls it Flagler but I dont see many flags. In the background you can see the drawbridge. i think it is scary. It makes a lot of noise. Here you can see me on the seawall. I love walking on the seawall. I meet tons of friends out on the seawall. Mostly lizards. They dont seem to like me much.

I have no idea what that thing is but daddy says that they are nice. I look for them when on the seawall
